Renting movies from the Webb center

The Webb center is a great place to go to hang out, get food, study, and play games. However, the Webb information desk is also a great place to get things from. One of the least publicized things the Webb center does is renting movies out to Old Dominion University students for free. Students can rent movies from the Webb Information Desk in the Lions Den.

This service is very useful to any type of Old Dominion University student who lives on campus, although commuter students would also love to use this service because they do not have to spend money on movies. Any university student that does not have Netflix, or has computer issues. As aforementioned, this service would help any student relieve their stress, by getting them to take their mind off of school. I have found that sometimes not using your computer is a good way to take your mind off of school because they are not using their computers and not thinking about things they should be doing on there computer. Therefore, even the students with a Netflix account would find this service useful so they do not have to use their computer.

Last year my roommate and I always rented movies from the Webb Center. With all the snow days we had last semester we had last year renting movies really came in handy. While my roommate did have Netflix, it was always nice to have a movie that we could watch on our television so we were not awkwardly sitting around her computer. Because each university student can only rent two movies out at a time, we each rented two movies so we could have a movie weekend. Renting movies gave us a chance to unwind and not think about school, we could relax and just have fun.

Through the wide variety of movies the Webb center has to offer, students would have to decide what kind of movie they are in the mood for. The Webb center offers over 500 movies, and they range from action movies, romantic comedies, Disney movies, horror movies, and Nicholas Sparks movies. Webb even has Harry Potter and Star Wars movies. However, they do not have all the movies, including the more recent movies like Hunger Games. So if you know what movie you want to watch, you have to check to make sure they have it. It would also be a good idea to have a back up movie in mind odds are if they do not have one movie, they will have the other.

In conclusion, the Webb center offers a variety of great services, the least known service is that the information desk rents movies out to ODU students for free. I learned about this service from my roommate and it was really useful during all the snow days last year when we wanted to stay in. This service allows students to have great movie nights. It also allows them to escape from the stress of schoolwork.
